So, a little over a year ago, I completed P90X for the first time. I tried to start it again the first of 2011, but got busy after about a month and had to stop. I tried again in June, and lasted a month, then bought a house and moved and spent a lot of time working on the house....and stopped working out. Needless to say (especially considering how I've been eating since Thanksgiving) I am now pretty much back to square one. This post (which I will update tomorrow to compare the other numbers) is going to look at where I was when I originally started, when I finished, and where I am now.
Fit Test Comparison
Exercise Aug. 2010 Dec. 2010 March 2012
1. Pull-ups 1/4 2 1/2 1 1/2
2. Vertical Leap 22 1/2" 25 1/2" 18 3/4"
3. Push Ups 12 1/2 24 1/2 25
4. Toe Touch 0" +4" +2.5"
5. Wall Squat 1:17 2:30 1:08.5
6. Bicep Curls 25 reps 52 reps 13 reps
Weight 3 Bands 3 Bands 30 Lbs.
7. In & Outs 8 41 30
8. Hear Rate Maximizer
0 Min. 160 154 160
1 min. 148 114 120
2 min. 120 102 104
3 min. ??? 90 104
4 min. 100 85 100
Needless to say I was a little shocked that some of these numbers were lower than the originals (vertical leap in particular), but it might have had something to do with the fact that I did this at the end of a Saturday after spending about 6-7 hours outside working on Eagle Project, Grounding Rods, and Yard Work. I was very excited to see that I was essentially able to do just as many push-ups as I could when I finished.

And so to celebrate I went out and ordered this tonight (there is a second brownie hiding the same size as the one you can see)
And I was only able to finish half of it. Before starting this I could've downed the whole thing easy. Proud of myself to for not pushing it, packing it up, and bringing it home.
See you all on January 3.......Get ready. I will post more information later.

My P90X Story: Day 91
Last day of rest. I guess they say it is a 90 day program because the last day (today) is the rest day and you don't really do anything (I shouldn't say that, you could do X Stretch).
So, I guess if I were to recap the program.....it would probably look a lot like the other testimonials that you see on the P90X web page. It was hard at first. It was a big adjustment for my body. I was sore as heck for the first week or so. Then my body got used to it, I settled in, and it was just a matter of sticking to it and continuing to push play. Some days were harder than others. Some stretches were easier than other. And it definitely works.
Weighed myself this morning....came in at 222.4 pounds. That would mean I am down 43 pounds since starting the program. We will see where I weigh in tomorrow. Been fluctuating between 222 and 225 pounds. Didn't think I would get down this low in only 90 days, but it happened. Can't wait to see the photo comparison tomorrow and then see the fit test comparison.

My P90X Story: Day 90
YEAH!!!!!!!!!! I did it!!!!!!!!!!
Totally kicked some Yoga X butt tonight. Got started way late on the workout because my brother decided to stop in for a visit from out of town and came later than I expected. So, I didn't finish until like 10 minutes after midnight. Felt great, except for the last few minutes when there were three people in the house "watching" me do the last little bit. That was a little awkward. Still struggled a bit with a couple of the poses, but did much better on some others. Felt really good doing the workout.
So glad that I am done!!!!
Day of rest tomorrow, then pictures and fit test on Monday.

My P90X Story: Day 89
So totally didn't feel like doing Core Synergistics tonight. Especially since we have the Christmas tree up now and we have way less room. However, I did it anyway, and actually did much better than I did earlier this week. I might eventually come around on this workout. One more day of workouts, then a day of rest and then we get to do final pictures and the fit test again. Looking forward to seeing how everything turns out!!!!!
My P90X Story: Day 88
So...I was supposed to do X Stretch tonight. We spent time getting Christmas presents organized so we know what we have left to do (thankfully not much) and by the time we finished that my stomach wasn't feeling well so I didn't do X Stretch tonight. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me. I think I'll probably be okay. Have one more day of Core Synergistics (my new least favorite workout) and one more day of Yoga X. I just don't remember which one is tomorrow.

My P90X Story: Day 87
Totally kicked Kenpo's Butt tonight!!! I think this is probably the most in control and comfortable I have ever felt doing this workout. I also feeled like I worked hard than I probably ever have doing this workout. I guess after doing this once a week for 90 days it is bound to get easier and feel more natural.
Looking forward to finishing up in a couple more days and then doing the post 90 day pictures and fit test.
